All good things must come to an end

One day, I'm having a winter lunch at a Chilean vineyard, and the next I am in a hot, humid, southern summer.

I find it funny that you come back from Chile and refer to it as a "southern" summer. Always interesting how perception of geography is relative to your location and where you're originally from.

Anyway, welcome back.

Yes, I hadn't thought of that as I wrote. In fact, I had an interesting time explaining to a Chilean how we define geography in the U.S. (e.g. why a state like Arizona is not "southern").

As Lewis Grizzard once said, American by birth, but Southern by the grace of God. Have you become a convert?

I don't think anyone can "convert" into a southerner. I will likely always be, as my wife's co-workers say, from the "left coast."
